- A median sales price of $600,000 in August 2024 resulted in an unchanged value of single-family homes in comparison to August 2023.

Labor Force and Employment
In August 2024 the unemployment rate in Collier County was 3.2 percent, as per data published by Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that in August 2024 the national unemployment rate was 4.2 percent—one full percentage point higher than that of Collier County.
Taxable Sales
State and local municipalities raise revenue through sales tax. Here are snapshots of taxable sales figures for Collier County, and other portions of Southwest Florida:
- Researchers at FGCU found that seasonally-adjusted real taxable sales in Collier County totaled $1.007 billion in June 2024.
- In Lee County seasonally-adjusted real taxable sales amounted to $1.657 billion in June 2024—1 percent higher than the previous month.

Tourist Tax Revenues
- Seasonally-adjusted real tourist tax revenues in Collier County were $3.7 million in July 2024.
- In Lee County seasonally-adjusted real tourist tax revenues measured $3.2 million in July 2024. That’s 19 percent over July 2023.
- In coastal counties seasonally-adjusted real tourist tax revenues amounted to 7.8 million in July 2024—an increase of 9 percent since July 2023.
Airport Passenger Activity at Southwest Florida International Airport
- At RSW seasonally-adjusted airport passenger traffic totaled 927,499 in August 2024, according to analysts at Florida Gulf Coast University. That’s 2 percent higher than the passenger traffic in August 2023.
