Happy 4th of July to everybody! Some facts you might find to be interesting:
- the first newspaper publishing the news of the existence of the Declaration of Independence on 4th of July 1776 was “Pennsylvanischer Staatsbote”! The publisher of this German Newspaper was Heinrich Miller! The text was ” Yesterday, the honorable Congress of these Western Lands, declared the United Colonies free and independent states.”
- In New England it is traditional to eat Salmon on 4th of July
- One president was born on 4th of July (Calvin Coolidge 30th President of the United States born in 1872) and three presidents have died two of them exactly 50 years later on 4th of July 1826, Thomas Jefferson 3rd President of the United States and John Adams 2nd President of the United States and the 5th President of the United States James Monroe died on 4th of July 1831!
- Around 15,000 4th of July Fireworks are happening worldwide every year! 2020 will be of course a very unusual year – I am sure – this year will become history! Unfortunately!

Firework at Naples Beach Florida 4th of July 2019!
The picture is from last years fireworks. The view was from the Beach at the Naples Beach Hotel! It was a very warm day with thunderstorms coming up in the evening as you can see on the pictures. The evening mood was very special and the fireworks was awesome. We will miss it tonight of course!
