6 Important Things to Include on Your Final Walk-Through Checklist
After searching among homes for sale in Naples, you’ve found your dream house and it’s almost yours. The time has come for you to take a final walk through your potential new residence to ensure that everything is as it should be. You’re close to getting the keys to your new place, but in your excitement don’t forget to check for these six important things during the final walk-through!
Final Walk-Through Checklist Item #1. Home Repairs
You love your potential new home, but you previously expressed a desire to see a few repairs made before you felt confident about signing on the dotted line. You negotiated those fixes with the seller, and the final walk-through is your opportunity to verify that the agreed-upon repairs were performed. If your offer included a home inspection contingency, bring along your inspection report to ensure the requested fixes were completed.

Final Walk-Through Checklist Item #2. Items Included in the Sale
When you first toured your dream home, you decided that there were certain items inside that you absolutely needed to have–that stunning chandelier in the dining room, the kitchen’s impressive espresso maker, and the dramatic drapes in the family room! So, you negotiated with the seller to include those items in your purchase agreement. During the final walk-through don’t forget to check to make sure that each of those items is still there!
Final Walk-Through Checklist Item #3. A Clean House
Make sure your potential new home is clean. The residence should be vacuumed and/or swept, and all trash should be removed. This includes checking to see if the seller has left behind any personal items. You should be starting with a clean slate.
Final Walk-Through Checklist Item #4. Plumbing and Electrical
During your final walk-through utilities in the home should still be on. This will enable you to verify that the house is still in good working order, as far as plumbing, electrical, and gas are concerned. So, be sure to run bathroom and kitchen faucets and flush toilets throughout the house to ensure there aren’t any leaks, stoppages, or other unknowns.
This is also an opportunity for you to go through each room and verify that light switches and electrical outlets are still working. You can test outlets by simply plugging in a phone charger. Also, verify that the heating and A/C still work properly.

Final Walk-Through Checklist Item #5. Evidence of Pests
As you walk around the house, be mindful to verify that there is no evidence of the presence of pests, like mice (droppings), roaches, or termites whose presence may not have previously been apparent.
Final Walk-Through Checklist Item #6. Walls, Floors, and Doors
Inside of the home simply check walls and floors for damage left behind by wall art or furniture. Check doors and windows to make sure they lock and function properly. This includes the garage door!
